Sue & The Law are happy to announce that we'll be returning to showcase atNorth by Northeast in Toronto again this year -- a great lil' slot midnight on Saturday June 21st at the legendary Dakota Tavern. It appears to be a stellar lineup that night, so plan to come early and dance late.
blogTO has chosen their Top 30 Toronto NXNE bands this year, and we're one of them! Thanks blogTO! Read about us and the other stellar local bands here.
FERNTV has done a spotlight on us as well for NXNE. Read an interview with Sue here.
The Law is nestling down with mugs of tea and bowls of chili for the autumn, writing for our upcoming full-length record. We spent some time together in a cottage in the woods asking our synthesizers what would move our hearts, (and asking the Ouiji board what our next album title should be). Dan makes pretty good chili. Check our instagram feeds for sweet and hilarious moments-in-time from our now-annual retreat in Buckhorn, Ontario.
Thanks all for coming out to The Silver Dollar and The Hideout this month for our Indie Week showcases. Sweet little review of the show by the Examiner here, where Mim and Sue are compared to Joan Jett and Cherie Currie. ...but who is who? You can come to your own conclusions in the new year:
We'll be in-studio this winter, but you won't have to wait to hear our new sounds. We'll also be touring throughout Ontario in January and February with David Newberry for some double-Newberry evenings of sound. Those are always the best times. THE BEST.
Keep your ear to the ground, and your eye on the horizon,
There's a super show coming up this week at The Red Dog in Peterborough. Much of the band has at one time lived in this lovely little town, and Sue splits her time between Peterborough and Toronto...but it's been a full year since the band has played together here. This show is not to be missed: it features Peterborough local bands ELMS, RobotEyes, Sue Newberry & The Law, and Norway's AESTRID. Four acts, five bucks! Music starts at 10pm sharp!
